Stephanie Eburah’s Lummi Island retreat with Tiny Atlas Quarterly & The Assembly- August 1-5, 2019
We’ll be holding an indigo workshop at the farm as part of this beautiful retreat to Lummi and other San Juan Islands. If you’re interested in more information or would like to book, visit Stephanie Eburah’s website.
Each guest will receive 6 white linen napkins to dye.
We grow the indigo on the farm, so we’ll start the workshop off by walking through our small indigo field and talking briefly about the process for extracting the dye from the leaves.
We’ll meet in the upper orchard to learn about simple traditional Shibori techniques and get to dyeing our napkins. Each person will design their own napkins using the techniques and patterns demonstrated or by experimenting!
There will be a break for a picnic lunch under the trees in the orchard and then we’ll head back to dyeing and rinsing the beautiful Shibori napkins. All pieces will be left to dry at the farm and returned to participants the following morning folded.
*Note: this indigo workshop is not available separately, you must book the entire retreat through the link above.
