2-day Botanical Art Workshop with Catherine Watters
Please join us at Full Bloom Farm on beautiful Lummi Island, September 14th & 15th, for a two-day, hands-on Botanical Art workshop lead by master instructor and artist, Catherine Watters. We had Catherine here in 2023 and we are so lucky to have her back again this year!
The workshop offers an exciting and rare opportunity to learn from an enthusiastic instructor who enjoys sharing her passion for botanical art. Students will be guided through an in-depth program that includes developing skills in observation, drawing, composition, color mixing, and watercolor techniques. Most of all, Catherine's students will learn how to "see" plants in a new way and paint botanical subjects with exquisite detail.
Students will work with graphite and watercolor, if you prefer colored pencils can be used. All levels are welcome, excellent for beginners and more experienced artists alike. September is the peak of the growing season on Lummi Island and the farm will be overflowing with beauty. You will be painting the summer bounty using farm fresh flowers, fruits, vegetables, and other plants as your subjects. Class begins at 10am and ends around 4pm each day.
You'll leave the workshop with new skills, tricks of the trade, and confidence to create stunning botanical art on your own!
The workshop will take place in our newly renovated barn studio space, full of natural light and located right off the flower garden and farm stand. Take time before or after class to explore the farm, the beaches, forests, and wildlife that Lummi Island offers. Each morning before class we’ll serve our delicious farmhouse pastries, coffee, and tea to get you ready for a creative day ahead.
Bring your own lunch or choose to preorder box lunches from us (we’ll send an email closer to the date for ordering).
